Squaw Valley

We left Lake Tahoe and went to visit Squaw Valley where the 1960 Winter Olympics were held.  Here is the monument with the Olympic flame at the entrance to the valley.

The valley as you are entering the Olympic village.

Some of the buildings in the valley.  The athletes were not housed in these buildings.

The cable car up to High Camp, elevation 8,200 ft.  The men's downhill skiing was held up here.

The cable car going in the opposite direction as we go up.

The swimming pool, hot tub and outside bar up at High Camp at the end of the cable car ride.

And looking down on the valley from the cable car.Posted by Picasa
