Some fauna and flora

We have seen many many chipmunks of various hues and sizes.  Can you see the bulge on the left hand side of this one's jaw?  That is a peanut in the shell that he picked up and tucked it away for safe keeping, from the ground as a man on a park bench was feeding him.  A few minutes late he returned and tucked a second peanut on the right hand side.  Obviously for a rainy day later on.

We think this is a marmoset who seemed to be living in this pipe.  A cute fat little fellow.
A wonderful rock formation we thought.

And a great tree root on the side of Lake Tahoe at one of the beaches.

How this tree manages to grow in the bare rock is quite hard to fathom.  We came across it on one of our walks and had to caputre it for the blog.Posted by Picasa
